There are rumblings about converting everything federal over to P25 as part 
of the new bandplans where everything is being rearranged.  Encryption won't 
always be used initially but is being discussed for the future.  Eventually 
(far future) everything federal and vaguely federal related will be 
encrypted.

Enjoy the listening while it lasts, in a generation or two, for better or 
for worse, it will be history.
