The ability of the Pro-96 to decode apco on the fly comes in handy when 
you have trunk systems that aren't "decoded" yet, i.e somebody hasn't 
determined the base, step, and offset or worse yet a split table. I used 
this decode on the fly feature to monitor the Nevada Test Site until I 
got the trunk settings figured out. Basically you just enter all the 
"voice" frequencies and let the scanner take care of the decode. If the 
system isn't busy, this will work.
