Chris, 172.9 is used in Dallas (Love Field) with a 169.3 input. They also
have 172.15 simplex as well as simplex on the 169.3 input. Both 172.15 as
well as the Rpt stuff is divided up into several channels using different
network ID's.

Here are a few postings for the group, since things have been a little slow
lately...
Portland, OR - 172.9000 MHz - I started hearing some P-25 digital
transmissions on 172.9 recently at my home base. I know that 172.9 is a TSA
frequency, but I couldn't figure out where it was coming from since the
nearest airport with TSA staff was using 172.150 simplex. Just figured out
that they have installed a repeater at Portland International (PDX) in
addition to their simplex channel. The repeater doesn't seem to be their
primary channel, but so far seems to be chit-chat and admin stuff. Normal
TSA security ops still on 172.15 simplex.
Atlantic City, NJ - 412.0000 MHz - P-25 with probable DEA units using call
sign "Brigatine" (Brigatine is a town northeast of Atlantic City). Working
what sounded like warrant services in the Atlantic City area. Frequency is
often listed as a DEA HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area)channel.
Nassau County, NY - 1654875 MHz, 100.0 pl - CBP Customs OMAHA aircraft
working with ground units on a surveillance .
1664625 MHz, CSQ - DHS Common with various units chit-chatting while on the
various parkways on Long Island.
4081000 MHz and 4096250 MHz - P25, State Department Diplomatic Security
Service busy on both frequencies.
Despite the move to narrowband and digital by federal agencies, there is
still a ton of analog federal traffic out there. I've been in the New York
City area for a few days and have found quite a few Fedcom catches that can
still be heard in the clear. I'll pass along some more when I have a
chance.
