[FedCom] RE: feds using nextel

I agree, I never could figure out any logic behind ProVoice, and taking a
chip and vocoder that had been designed for one thing and built into one
specification, and then tweaking it so that it will not be.  Before the
250D there always was talk about getting Motorola Radios to listen to
APCO-25 stuff, but very little talk about finding things for ProVoice.  I
know that there has to be some used gear out there or easily available
gear there but there is little to no talk about it on any of the lists
here.  Has anyone been successful in getting a portable that will do
ProVoice, and what about programming it?
