As I mentioned in an earlier message, Uniden has not mentioned anything 
about a base/mobile model. I can't imagine they wouldn't put one on the 
market soon, but I think they would want to get all the design issues down 
first. I am sure at some point in the future we will hear about a 
base/mobile model of the 396. ;-))))

This reminds me, is there a desktop model coming any time soon with the 
basic features of the 396?
