I checked a bit more and the Pro-97 is indeed a GRE product. 
[Starrsoft.com only supports GRE.] The BC246 doesn't have mil air. 
Granted this is fedcom, but I'm sure most on the list want mil air. So 
the closest radio to the Pro-97 would be the Uniden BR330T.

Now if I could find a comparison of "close call" and "signal stalker."
