In Chicago, the 409 State Dept Pairs come alive whenever there is a dignitary in town. Princess Di, The Dalai Lama, as well as Heads of State come to mind. There is a good program which ran recently on Discovery Times channel "Critical Threat" about the workings of DSS. Not sure if its on archive or available on DVD.
