Well I found the ultimate search tool for at least some "on scene" related 
federal frequency hunting expeditions.

Look at:
http://www.recreation.gov/

Wide range of government agencies providing recreational usage of 
land/facilities...

Now someday IF I win the lottery I'm going to buy myself one of those 
motorhomes & take off on this frequency hunting expedition.. In the mean 
time those of you in the various geographic areas might consider a mini 
expedition!!! and please report your findings to the list...  thanks
