[FedCom] ProVoice on Fed Channels?

I agree that sounds like DES, but have been told it is ProVoice. That is 
why I warned Chris not to accept radioreference as a source since the 
person who submitted that information heard that it was ProVoice from me 
  who in turn heard it was ProVoice from someone else yada yada yada ! ;-)

Now in your other email, you called it M/A Com P25, but the Groom Lake 
system has been "digital" for about 8 years, predating APCO.

I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that P25 specifies both the 
use of 9600 bps data channel and the APCO codec, so saying a system uses 
P25 isn't exactly kosher. For instance, those old moto 3600 bps systems 
with ACPO digital are called P16.
