Subject: [FedCom] Re: Follow-Up: Monitoring Status
There's an old saying in this monitoring hobby - If they don't want you to
hear them, you won't. They know that there are people out there listening
and they usually take appropriate steps to keep the sensitive stuff off the
air. But the interesting part of monitoring is catching them when they
don't!

That's an "Old Wive's Tale," Chris. "They" usually don't have a real
understanding as to how easy it is to intercept non-secure comms over "secret"
frequencies. Most of us are smart enough to not post details in our shared
loggings, but it certainly doesn't imply that those hobbyists who are
monitoring the communications aren't hearing details that are considered sensitive.
Anyone who hears enough info to figure out the who/what/where/when of a
surveillance are hearing "sensitive stuff" that the agents/agencies don't want us
to hear.
