During a recent trip to the Seattle area, I monitored the following on  VHF: 
All of these were P25 encrypted: 
167.000 
167.3375 
167.3875 
167.4125 
167.6125          
167.7625 
168.850 
169.4125          
170.9125 
172.2125 
All of these were control channels: 
167.2875 
167.6875 
167.7125 
170.6625 
172.2875 
172.6375 
172.6875 
I believe that they are all part of the Justice Integrated Wireless  Network 
(JIWN) that Chris Parris wrote about in the July 2006 issue of MT. I  didn’t 
hear anything else on VHF the entire time I was there.  
Can anyone tell me, are all the DOJ and DHS agencies using the system.  The 
fact that everything was encrypted seems to me this is being used for law  
enforcement or discreet ops and not for Postal or Parks.
