[FedCom] Interop Freqs Usage?

I suspect that the "federal" interop frequencies can have various functions,
but they are primarily to be used by multiple federal agencies. I suspect
there are geographical assignments because I can not imagine that every fed
radio would have all the VHF or UHF frequencies programmed. On LE 3 (I
believe) I heard the FBI and DEA because the robbery was committed by an
alleged drug dealer. On another fed interop frequency, I heard the locals
as well.

One of the "federal" frequencies were used? Generally in these type of
situations it would be one of the civilian law enforcement nationwide or for

that speciific region that would be used. In other words the FBI uses the
local network.

For example here in WMass, we've got WMLECC, which is a repeater/crossband
set up 155.475, 460.225, & 858.7375. Some hobbyists in the area feel that
one of those radio "switchboards" that can tie any systems together
example: http://www.networkfirst.com/features/solution/ will be
implemented in the future under the auspices of either WMLECC or the
regional mutual fire aid frequencies.
