You've never been to Norfolk, Va. In the early 80's at least two of
the FCC office staff used a FCC repeater operation on 167.0500 mhz. with
a phone patch. 99% of the calls mobile were to the guy's wives. I'm 75
air miles NW of Norfolk and the repeater was noise free reception here.
It died when the field office closed the late 80s.
