FPS vs Contract Protection Re: [FedCom] FPS Callsigns?

Thanks Rod:

Now I know at the Springfield (MA) federal building the FPS is a contracted
out. I think that depending upon how large the facilities are there's 1 or
2 FPS civil service officers assigned, actually as overall contract
managers/supervisors & also they do some random patrols & are there for any
special problems (e.g. demonstrations)... Additionally, the smaller
facilities don't have a full time FPS officer but there's an area supervisor
who visits the contract protected facilitiy . Also I think that security
alarm responses are primarily the local PD's responsibilities with FPS
officer response only if there's a problem found..... If there's a federal
court in the same federal building than the US Marshal's Service provides
security for the courts.

It would be interesting to see what one of those mega dispatch/control
centers look like. I think that they are also contracted facilitiy/service
rather than all FPS employees but I might be wrong!

Ken
