CAP has nationwide secondary privileges on all the ISR's. They will
invariably utilize these, also, for ground team search operations. The
Yaesu VX-7R is a magnificent radio to monitor, simultaneously, both the
CAP VHF-hi freqs and the ISR freqs. The "Main" and "Sub" channels on the
VX-7R really do the job, so to speak. These will, most likely, be
utilized, on many SAREX operations.

The actual radios are Icom IC-4008M models. Below is a link from
military.com on the actual USAF/CAP guidelines from several years ago.
These can be purchased, through official means, for around $70-80.

This is the time of year for intensified practice ops, given the summer
vacation status of the 12-18 year-old cadets. Summer "encampments" abound.
