Gentleman,
I have been monitoring FedCom since the early 80's here in southern Missouri.
There will be weeks where I do not hear anything on the hundreds of federal
frequencies I scan and then all of the sudden one or two frequencies will
become active. When that happens, I search between 162-174 and 406-420 Mhz and
have found many new frequencies. Many surveillance's start on repeaters and
move to simplex. I found simplex comms on 165.975, 162.925, 165.925, 165.0375,
165.375, 165.2375, 165.2875, 418.050, 418.750 during band search. Also, I
have heard many "just traveling through" interstate surveillance's on many
frequencies [163.625, 163.675, 151.160, 155.475] that are not local. That is what
makes this hobby so much fun, you never know when a frequency is going to
become active.
