Just a note: Out here in MO and KS the Corps of Engineers has a large repeater network on 163.4375, but some of the outlying lakes can't reach HQ in Kansas City on VHF, and the Corps uses 5015 KHz upper or lower sideband to contact those. There are other shortwave channels licensed to them also. I haven't checked them in quite some time, but they used to be linked to the VHF network when necessary.

"Reservoir Control" with multiple monitoring stations with dam settings for the incoming severe weather. "Reservoir Control" will call the roll at 0800 hrs tomorrow morning for status of all stations.
