When I was in Gulf County in Nov 2004, 140.5, 140.625, 141.0, and 141.975 were used as control
channels, alternating every day. Found the Base freq to be 136.0 and the step was 25k. My last
trip just a couple weeks ago, I only heard 141.0 as an active control freq one afternoon just
prior to a storm that rolled in. (That storm also brought some GREAT ducting in the 800 and 900
mhz range as well, later found that a couple freqs heard active were out of lower Miss!) The other
days I never did hear anything, must have been too far away on my second trip.
Tyndall AFB may be too far from Destin, but 406.3625, 406.5625, and 406.9625 were noted as active
control channels, with 406.1 as the Base freq and 12.5k steps. This is a VERY active system, wish
I was closer when I visited to be able to ID some of the MANY MANY active talkgroups.
