Hello Rickey & the group:
It's my understanding that the Secret Service provides security for the
"heads of state" and that the Department of State Diplomatic security
provides security for "other than heads of state", so an ambassdor would get
DSSS security protection.

Again I think for the most part it was a low power simplex ops with portable
w/t's and not mobiles or base stations.
