In the Boston area there are two new P-25 repeaters that have come
on-line in the past month or so;
407.7750R/416.7750(Input)
409.9375R/418.9375(Input)
The 407. freq started first then the 409 freq came on-line and appears
to be the primary. Notice the 9MHZ offset. The base is encrypted and
mobiles are in the clear.

Subject: [FedCom] US Postal Service Frequencies?
Hmm, sounds like another great project for a hobby related magazine
columist(s) & this fine group of "frequency sleuths" to undertake,
developing a nationwide listing of USPS frequencies in use.
Grove's "Federal Frequency Directory" 2nd edition, lists the potential
of approximately 189 frequencies being used by the "Post Office"
(search term): 86 VHF band, & 103 UHF band.
Further breakdown
"Postal Inspectors" 2 VHF highband frequencies
"Postal Inspections" 2 nationwide UHF frequency pairs
"Postal Security" 2 nationwide UHF repeater pairs
I would think that US Postal Service Radio Systems could be categorized
in the the following general categories:
Facility specific -- Such as Mail Sorting/Processing Facilities, e.g.
Operations, Management, & Security. These would most likely be
geographic specific coordinated frequencies.
Geographic Area Specific --- Primarily bulk mail transportation
operations of some sort. In my geographic area, local route postal
delivery vehicles do not have radio comms installed. This may be
primarily used in large metropolitian areas (e.g. NYC, Boston, SF, Los
Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Miami, etc....
Nationwide Assignments -- Perhaps this would be the US Postal
Inspection Service, where both repeater pairs & simplex freqs are
predefined channels in the mobile & portable radios.

Chris Parris columnist 'The Fed Files', "Monitoring Times" magazine has
had some frequencies listed, based upon his travels & monitoring in
specific US geographic areas. Additionally, it appears that those
"spectrum holes" (listed as such in Grove's frequency directory) has
seen some USPS current usage (e.g. Springfield MA BMC)
Tom Kneitel's "The 'Top Secret' Registry of U.S. Government Radio
Frequencies", 8th edition (1993), lists the following states with
frequency information (format State: number of locations, number of
frequencies):
AK: 1, 1 (VHF)
AL: 1, 1, (VHF)
AZ: 2, 4, (VHF & UHF)
CA: 11, 43, (VHf & UHF)
CO: 2, 5, (VHF)
CT: 2, 3, (VHF & UHF)
DC: 2, 3 (VHF)
FL: 5, 15 (VHF, UHF)
GA: 1, 10 (VHF, UHF)
IA: 2, 6 (VHF & UHF)
IL: 3, 17 (VHF & UHF)
IN: 1, 2 (VHF, UHF)
KS: 1, 1 (VHF)
KY: 3, 3 (VHF & UHF)
LA: 1, 3 (VHF & UHF)
MA: 2, 13 (VHF & UHF)
MD: 4, 10 (VHF & UHF)
ME: 1, 1 (VHF)
MI: 2, 5 (VHF & UHF)
MN: 3, 13 (VHF & UHF)
MO: 2, 7 (VHF & UHF)
NC: 2, 6 (VHF & UHF)
NE: 1, 4 (VHF)
NJ: 5, 13 (VHF & UHF)
NY: 9, 24 (VHF & UHF)
OH: 5, 24 (VHF & UHF)
OK: 3, 4 (VHF & UHF)
OR: 1, 2 (VHF)
PA: 7, 17 (VHF & UHF)
SC: 1, 1 (VHF)
TN: 4, 11 (VHF)
TX: 4, 23 (VHF & UHF)
UT: 1, 2 (VHF & UHF)
VA: 4, 7 (VHF & UHF)
WA: 2, 3 (VHF & UHF)
PR: 1, 1 (VHF)
All areas, 20 freqs (5 VHF, 15 UHF)
Postal Inspectors & Security nationwide: 5 VHF, 3 UHF repeater pairs, 3
UHF simplex
So as you can see there's some states that are missing from his list
but definitely have US Postal sorting facilities, etc....
So please post your findings to the list!
Ken
