Speaking of the Post Office, has anyone else around the country had
their local Postal Service repeater just disappear?
Not the Inspectors - I'm talking about the ~2-ton trucks that they
use to drive mail to the individual post offices around town. Chris
P. noticed about six months ago that the local 168 MHz repeater that
they used here in Portland was suddenly dead. Nothing on the input,
either. We've been searching VHF and UHF. Zip.
Where did they go?
(Geez, don't say Nextel.)
I haven't spotted one of their trucks in a while, but I haven't been
looking. And you can't get near the yard where they park them behind
the main P.O., to see if they still have antennas on them. This may
not tell us anything anyway.
Anyone notice anything similar in their locale?
George D.
