It's a HOBBY, not a job. It's like you're competing with
others. For what? Just to say you've got frequencies
that no one else does? It almost sounds as if you
think you have ownership over the frequencies.
What's the difference between you sharing
cruise ship frequencies on your web page, and
FBI frequencies?

Why not? See that's the difference between you and I.
If someone says to me "can you help me out with fed
frequencies?" "what's the local ATF frequencies?" or
"can you send me your frequency list?", I don't say
"screw you, go to Google". I heartily send my
frequency list to anyone that wants it, and I post it
on my web page. Yeah, I've worked hard to find
the frequencies in my area too, but I'm not so damn
cocky, on an ego trip, or terrorist paranoid that I
can't share with others. That's what these lists are
for. To share and learn.

Searching for frequencies on the internet (generally,
but not always) gets you crap results. Occasionally,
you'll find a gem, but not often. Sure, I could
do a search for FBI frequencies, and it'd probably
send me to a stupid link to a web page that says to do
a frequency search between 167-168 mhz. Well,
that doesn't give me s**t as far as confirmed
channels and frequencies for my area. But when
someone posts a frequency list that says 167.4375
is Dallas Primary repeater for FBI, it saves me and
countless hobbyists a lot of extra time searching for
a needle in a haystack. By posting confirmed
frequencies, it helps figuring out the big picture.
Some folks are real paranoid about that. I AM NOT.
And frankly, many folks don't sit in front of a
computer all day long, or have the time to just
"search" for everything.
