My guess is that it will be a very slow process, but
I'll keep an ear to the scanner. Thanks for the info!
Over the next 5 yrs. we ought to hear some very
interesting changes in fedcom. Some of it has
already started in many metros. I'm all for P25
(it has a crisp, clear, and stronger signal to me).
So far, in my 'hood, the new signals have been
a combo of clear and encrypted traffic, dependent
on agency and usage. All in all, not very different
from the old systems and protocol, as far as
scanning.
