Now THAT brings back memories.................. 148.140 ~used~ to be CAP's
"Channel 7" back when CAP only had a total of 7 freqs (HF and VHF included).
We were refarmed up to .150 sometime in the early 60's as I recall.
I remember cutting new crystals for all of our Sqdn's gonset IIs and IIIs.
(Actually recutting the ones we ~were~ using to raise them from 8230 KCs to
up to 8230.555 KCs). More than a few hours with a radio and a dummy load,
a glass plate, some scouring powder and a calibrated BC-211 freq meter.
Ahh the old days...................... :-)
