I agree with Bob on this. At least from listening here in DFW, there
has been no indication (so far) of any transition to lower base
frequencies 406-410, or to P25. They are still using the nationwide
418.XXX assignments. Although I have detected some new
P25 encrypted transmissions in the 406-410 area, I personally
am not led to believe they are DEA, but rather USSD Diplo Security,
USPS Inspectors, or an FCI installation making the "new" repeater
outputs transition.
On a separate note (since the original thread was FBI), no indication
as well of any "digital" transition for FBI either here in DFW.
