Hi Blaine & Group,
I've been listening to this activity too. It gets boring after a while but
it is interesting knowing what it is. I just wish I knew who it was. I
don't think it's FEMA Region 6 in Denton because I'm receiving it pretty
clear (on a scale of 10, I'd say about a 7) in W Fort Worth.
Someone told me it may be a DMAT team for the area and that makes good
sense. I wouldn't think it would be Baptist Men's Ministry, Red Cross, or
Salvation Army because of the federal band the traffic is in, but who knows?
Some of the people participating in the disaster relief work have mentioned
being flown in so it appears to be more than just a local agency helping
those in Oklahoma.
One of the trucks carrying supplies to Oklahoma has broken down according to
radio traffic I just heard. Ranger appears to be the name of the company
that handles the towing for whoever this is.
It's got me curious...

173.625 PL 118.8 here in DFW. Assigned
as a federal itinerant.
Thought this was postal operations, but it
has turned out to be much more interesting.
Activity is pretty much nonstop. Medium to
strong signal level here on the north side of
DFW.
Turns out it's a disaster relief operation command
post! Base station is ID'ing as "Dispatch"
& is providing food and water for Tulsa and Oklahoma
City. Is this FEMA Denton? If it is...it's very cool
communications.
Trailers are assembling for staging. Numerous
trailers are leaving with thousands of gallons of
water and MRE's. Referenced PBR's for trailers?
Good listening for scannists and all you media types
in DFW looking for information on the current situation
there.
