[FedCom] Ferret Antenna

a few years ago i used an Austin Ferret that i bought used from a guy 
on a local scanner list.  it performed significantly better than my 
comet/diamond discone (especially in the VHF federal band) and was 
much less conspicuous.  the radome is epoxy-coated fiberglass over an 
array of dipoles, and is very weatherproof.  if you use coax-seal on 
your feedline connection, it should hold up well under just about any 
weather conditions (low wind profile, too!)
