[FedCom] Federal activity in Plainfield, NH?

Folks,

A well-placed acquaintance shared this story with me, and mentioned
that, although the feds have backed off, there is still an active level
of surveillance going on. This tidbit should NOT be betraying any
covert op, given the extremely public nature of the coverage, as it
made the Boston Globe. All one has to do is read between the lines,
especially with the "wait and see" approach of federal law enforcement.

I put this out to the List for research purposes only. The article,
along with the link, is below. Google Earth has an interesting
perspective on the "fortress" that the article references. My
acquaintance mentioned that this fellow has a dual .50 cal MG mounted on
a belfrey-like structure on his roof, five-foot thick concrete walls,
and a bunker. That, plus the enormous quantity of ammo and the five
years of rations he has bragged about elsewhere, makes one wonder about
how much money a dentist can make. There's a shortage of them here in
Maine (LOL!)

Some pertinent questions to the Elmers of this List, based on your
diverse experiences:

1) when multiple agencies are involved (such as FBI, U.S. Marshals,
etc.) do they revert to the generic 163.100, 163.200R, or on a shared
system?

2) would the FBI repeater system utilized? How much inter-agency sharing
is there?

3) Would Nextel be employed, or, like much of rural Maine, is Plainfield
bereft of reliable Nextel communications?

4) Is there a published SOP per region? If so, which agency establishes
jurisdiction? Who would become, in this situation, for example, the
on-site OIC?

I realize there are many variances, however, from state to state. I
welcome your elucidations, especially from our fine monitors in the
Plainfield, NH area.

Best to the List,

Loren in Maine

BTW, if the copied link below fails to come through, please feel free to
email me "off List" and I'll gladly send it directly.
