Hmmm, wonder how they decided to pick THAT FREQUENCY to use with the vast
number of frequencies that are available in the VHF range. Surely, this is
"interesting" and is especially interesting because of the potential
functional usage(s) of this frequency historically, presently, &
future......
BTW I don't "stir the pot" on EVERY post!!! (nor that often -- really,
!!!!??? ) Actually I put a smiley face on the end of my initial post...
Surely as we all sit at our scanner monitoring posts listening to "typical"
radio traffic, it's always exciting to discover the "unique", the "out of
ordinary, etc... , isn't it "FUN" to have some INTRIGUE thrown in!!!! :) ;)
BUT your initial post does bring up an interesting overall subject and I
thank you for your efforts!!!!
Anyone else monitoring unauthorized activity on other federal/military
frequencies?
I'd assume that the potential is greater in the 140-144, 148-150.8 mhz than
other bands because of modifications & programming that extends a lot of
amateur radio equipment into these bands. Also since most operations appear
to be either portable or mobile with relatively low power, this could
present a challenge to tracking down the signals.
Again, though it is interesting that at least in Al's post they decided to
use a military federal frequency authorization (since they are assuming that
"nobody" is monitoring) versus a standard amateur radio frequency, that
would probably get them scrutinized fairly quickly!!!
