You probably could have gotten your answer on aircraft ID by scanning the 
various Air Traffic Control frequencies in that specific area.   Of course 
you would have to match the voices to the atc radio traffic, assuming it was 
the pilots who were talking on the UHF frequency and not another crew 
member.

Thanks for the VERY interesting post!!!   Again it shows that when one puts 
their scanning in the "search" mode, there's always the potential for 
discovery of new activity!!!!
