Perhaps it was Forestry helos
enroute to your location. Interesting that they didn't
just use 122.75 or some other rarely used unicom
for a/a, like 123.45. We get a lot of State Forestry
action down here, but hardly any in the way of USFS
stuff. Just not enough "forestry" and mountains down
here, at least around DFW. Most of our stuff is
grassland brush fires. BUT, they can get immense.
Luckily, most cities and counties have a good plan of
action.
