That's possible, Ken. However, before upgrading to the 396, I carried a
Uniden 250D handheld, which does use battery packs. I carried a spare pack
with me, but it was usually in a bag with my computer power supply and
cables, which I always pulled out of the backpack for a seperate trip
through the x-ray machine.
My biggest security problem was trying to carry an Image Orthicon camera
tube through security. They are rather large and must have looked like some
kind of WMD on the x-ray when it went through!
