[FedCom] 415.05 Activity?

Ken and all...

415.0500 MHz is, as far as I can tell, still a nationwide allocation  
to the US Postal Service Postal Inspection Service. According to the  
NTIA, it is allocated as a simplex frequency and not paired with any  
others.

Although many of the primary Postal inspectors repeaters have moved  
to the lower part of the federal UHF spectrum, both 415.0500 MHz and  
414.7500 MHz are still heard being used as simplex channels for the  
P.I.S.

Ken, I wouldn't be surprised if the Postal Inspectors in your area  
were using this as some sort of alarm or status link, possibly in  
connection with a postal facility nearby.

I haven't heard that yet where I've been lately, but will keep an ear  
out for it.
