I agree Blaine, the FBI system here in southwest Missouri (167.6875) is  very 
nice.  Remote receivers, repeater antenna at 800 feet, tied together  with 
"570" Kansas City using telephone lines.  All of our money spent, and  they use 
165.975 simplex for most of there operations.  I haven't heard  anything on 
this regional repeater in years except a radio check here and  there.
 
Same with the DEA, nice regional repeater on 418.900 tied with "St. Louis  
Base" and they use 418.750 simplex for 99% of there operations.
 
Maybe they just need to get some Motorola XTS5000 portables with P25  digital 
and use them on simplex and forget about spending all that money on a  new 
repeater system........ya right.....(-:
