Larry & FedCom group,
I was monitoring 10780Khz USB for Cape Radio this afternoon and at about
1640 UTC Cape Radio came up on 10780Khz and asked Freedom Star to QSY to
20390khz USB for a COM check. I moved up to 20390khz USB and could hear Cape
Radio QRK4/5. Cape Radio could not hear Freedom Star and QSY'ed back to
10780khz USB and established COMs with Freedom Star again. Freedom Star
passed along to Cap Radio that they could not hear Cape Radio on 20390khz
USB. I clicked on your link to the Monitoring Times NASA Communications .pdf
and I noticed that 20390khz is not listed as a solid rocket booster recovery
vessel frequency so I though I would pass along that I heard Cape Radio on
20390khz so you could add it to the next Communications.pdf update and to
give the FedCom members a heads-up for the next launch.
It is too bad the launch was scrubbed.
Best of 73's
