Jonathan,

Be very careful using those radios in a legal manner.

Unless you're on the water or using them in conjunction with operation
from a licensed
craft you may be subject to an enforcement action.

The FCC and Coast Guard are quite vigilant about policing the use of
the marine frequencies.

Quite a few people have been caught and fined for using them for
communications while hunting.
