Example:
Lets say you hear a surveillance going on, on a frequency assigned to the DEA, so you assume its DEA because you know they conduct surveillance operations all the time and you say to yourself, who else could it be, sound like DEA right?
Well ask yourself this.
Can you count how many agencies conduct surveillance operations? Several.
So you assume its DEA, but yet its not, might be the IRS. Now you just misinformed yourself and the group.
"If its not right, no big deal, I can live with it and not get upset over sharing that info"
If that was the case then why even share the info to begin with if you don't care if the info is correct or not ?? Why be informed if you are misinformed?? That makes no sense at all...
The whole point of sharing info is to share correct and accurate info. NOT misleading info, or info that is obvious {IE. Known Assigned Agencies to a frequency }

I agree that I also want to know who is TX'ing. But having some info on who the freq is assigned can go a long way to figuring it out who is using it.
Maybe you want to start with the assumption that it might be the local garbage collector using the freq, have at it. But when I look at my files of freqs I have heard AND have seen in radios and actually know who is using those radios, 80% to 90% of the time, it matches up with who is assigned the freq.
If too much info that may not be accurate for a specific exception puts you into overload status then yes, by all means do us a favor and disregard freq assignment info. But I can handle it and will continue to make use of that info in my quest to identify the unknowns. If its not right, no big deal, I can live with it and not get upset over sharing that info. More often than not the freq assignment info is a help to get started.

Incorrect. And I have read many radios, again, I repeat. You are incorrect.
And the whole point of me stating what I said is I as well as others on this group would like to know who is actually TX, not who suppose to be TX. Confirmation, not assumptions.
