By next week, the U.S. Border Patrol in Erie will hold the keys to its new
home -- a big, red brick building with a bright green roof.

The transition will mark the end of construction on the agency's new Erie
station, a 30,000-square-foot building off Route 98 near Interstate 90. The
project cost its developer, a private company from Buffalo, about $5 million
to build.
The move into the new building in the first full week of April will also
mark another milestone for a federal force that hasn't stopped growing since
the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, brought it to the region.
