It is best to just ignore the trolls. They thrive on attention.
My DSL+phone is about $70 a month. So much for free TV over the internet.
You may have WISP in your area. I run Kismet in the boonies just to see what is out there in "no where" and find quite a few WISP beams, often horizontally polarized.
Incidentally, Nellis is a sea of wifi, all secure of course. I've never sniffed wifi at any other federal facilities. Nellis uses their wifi strictly for aircraft MX paperwork, or so they say.
At some point, these facilities are going to go to a special federal wireless network. I've seen the client adapters for sale, but don't know where they have rolled it out.

Free? Does that work with 32K dial-up? How much to have a broadband cable
run out into the desert so I can see these shows for FREE????
