A bit OT but probably of interest.

I was looking at the L-3 box which claimed to have a single channel interferometer. This didn't seem possible, but the R&S pdf explains how it works. Still it looks like a poor substitute for multi-channel interferometry. It is hard to get quadrature phase networks to work over move than an octave.
