I got multiple hits on 173.7125 NAC 293 today around 12:15-12:35 PM
doing radio checks. It sounded like at least 2 aircraft although one
seemed to do most of the talking. He identified himself as "Seawind
01" and was calling "Seawind Sill(?)" Seawind Sill was unheard but
the comms suggested it was roughly 160-185 miles away during the tests
and that they were testing around the expected limits of radio
coverage at 160. At one point he said "stand by for another antenna."
Comms were indicative of pilots if not military pilots. He appeared
to be referring to the channel as "fox mike" (FM?) and at one point
said "fox mike 1 lower." The 160-185 radius would line-up with
aircraft flying from Corpus Christi (Coast Guard?). Around this time
I had some military mode S hits with Ident "SAME50," "VENUS97" (SAM
B752) and "PETRA01" in addition to various trainer aircraft.
