IMHO all are "M" and all are trunking, what may vary would be the type of Trunk [flavor and generation]
Legacy Type II with P25 Voice or a true P25 system - the answer is by the Sys ID where 3 character sys is the P25 and the 4 character sys is legacy with P25 Voice

Hi guys, I was just wondering about federal prisons and detention centers.  I know that most all of them are either Motorola Trunking or P25.  Is there generally a lot of activity on those systems?  I only got to spend some time monitoring the medium Milan Prison in Michigan and it was a Sunday morning so I don’t know if as a general rule if coms are very little on these systems?
