Marcy here is the basic channel plan for the FAA
Generally I've found the Repeater sites to (my region atleast) to be away
from the airport but provide coverage to those facilities and sometimes
cover multiple Large/Medium/Small airports.
What you will hear is the Runway Light, Tracon, radar Maintenance Ops, along
with a few of the Repeaters still having Phone Patches (Yup, even in this
day of cellphones)
Good Fine.
Also I would expect to see them re-implemented 172.9000 back into their
channel plans, now that TSA has gone UHF and that pair can be returned to
the FAA
