Such a silly issue...converting a digital signal (the "TTY" signal) to
an analog signal and then agonizing over how to get the analog signal
to go back to digital on the other end! Some of the current
"wireless" technologies, such as TDMA, NEXTEL and GSM...really the same
thing)
aren't too good with analog tones. In fact, most of the cellular/PCS
systems are optimized for voice and that's why they have separate
"modem" inputs of one type or another.
If I remember correctly, the "TTY" tones are fairly high, around 2 KHZ.
If those TTY devices had RS232 connections, then they could easily be
interfaced to the wireless device.
Of course, voice over IP is the same as trying to send analog data over
wireless....
