I agree that the LESU in the picture is of Western Union make. However
Teletype did use some of those Western Union polar relays in their own
production; apparently it was an excellent polar relay. Most of the ones
I have seen were made by Automatic Electric, so it's interesting that
yours is a Sigma. (Western Union contracted out manufacture, so I guess
Sigma was the successful bidder on some procurement.)
That foam plastic sound insulation turned out to be bad news. For a while
in the 1950s they were using some kind of glass fiber pads under the
Model 28 KSRs, but at some later date they apparently went back to felt in
that area.
