I have a sales brochure for the Teletype Model 42 ASR. It appears to be a=
specially programmed version of the Model 43. It appears to have the same=
four (4) row keyboard that is on the 43. The brochure mentions that you d=
o
not have to use a figures or letters shift, that the shift characters are=
generated and inserted automatically.
I have never seen a real Model 42, however, I have a Model 43 KSR that I
bought brand new to use with a computer back in the early 70s. It is a
really nice machine - I believe that the keyboard is the nicest I have ev=
er
typed on!
