[GreenKeys] Double LF & Quadruple Line LF on a Model 28

Don and any other Greenkeyers that could help,
 
I have a Model 28 that I am working on getting back in operating
condition.  When the LF selector switch on the printing mechanism  is
set to single line feed, I get double line feeds.  When it is set to
double line feed, I get quadruple line feeds.
 
Someone mentioned to me that they thought there was a mod kit that did
this.  I was curious if I have a moded machine or if there is something
wrong with the machine.  If it is a mod, then I don't need to try to
figure out how to fix it, just find a way to mod it back to original.
Otherwise, I need to try and fix whatever is wrong with the machine.
 
Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated,  It is a Model 28
KSR desk model with a 3 speed gear box and works fine in every other
respect.
