forgive my ignorance, but I recall back a year or two ago, George Hutchison had an experimental station set up. I know that he petitioned to turn it into NASDAW communications station and I believe it was rejected? 

In any case, I was wondering what happened to George's original experimental station? Did the license expire and not get renewed (ie pre nasdaw). I never had any equipment up and running at that time stable enough to copy (only an hq129x)? 

I know George is in the midst of a move but even just one station like his would be great. Does any one know how difficult it is to obtain a short wave station license? Maybe it might be easier to conduct rtty news broadcasts or what have you with that kind of license vs ham?
