Hi Clarence:
Yes, to drive a tty machine from the dovetron, you need a circuit that
converts rs-232 signals to a powered current loop for the tty(s). The loop
should ideally be opto-isolated from the 232 side for safety.
If you got one of my TTY232 boards a few years back, you can do it with that.
Or, my latest board, TTY-CONNECT, is getting close to a production board
run. The prototype is running on my bench.
Or, you can just solder up a simple circuit on a perf board. I think there
is a non-optoisolated loop-keyer design at rtty.com. You need an external
loop supply for this one.
