[GreenKeys] Proper oil to use?

Hi
More or less on the same topic.
What ever you decide to use, be careful that it's compatible with what
ever is already there. Of course if you run the whole machine through a
vapor degreaser first then this isn't an issue. The next thing to check
is weather it's compatible with the grease and cleaners you will be
using in the future.
One of the problems you are trying to prevent is a reaction between two
oils or oil and grease. In some cases the oil will turn the grease into
glue. The same kind of interaction can happen between some cleaners and
an oil or grease. It's a rare thing. Usually you only see it with
strange synthetic formulas or cleaners that were never intended for
stripping oil.
About all you have to do is mix a little of this with a little of that
and watch the results. I suppose you could get more exotic than that,
but it should do the trick.
A bit closer to the topic.
I have used both the normal 3 in 1 oil and their 20 weight product.
They both do the job. You can get better results out of some of the
synthetic products these days, but they can be hard to find.
The key issue with any of this is to use it sparingly. You don't want
the machine dripping oil. This is one case where less is more. Less oil
or grease attracts less dust and dirt. The machine stays running longer
...
Take Care!
